Reverse Engineering: Innovation & Opportunity for Small to Medium Manufacturers

Reverse engineering is the process of analyzing an existing part or product to understand its design, materials, and function.

Its relevance for small manufacturers includes replicating legacy parts, benchmarking competition, reducing costs, and rapidly replacing components that are unavailable.

Small manufacturers find opportunity through parts discontinuation, missing drawings, design flaws and quality issues.

Hear from Scott Gray and Evan Gray of Elevate Systems about the process of reverse engineering with real examples of success and challenges they have encountered through defense and commercial contracts using everything from 3D printing and prototyping to applying artificial intelligence and machine learning to extend the lifecycle of legacy systems and parts.

ATTENDEE FEE

• $55 per person for SAMA members
• $65 per person for non-members. 

A late fee of $10 will be applied to each ticket, if purchased 5 days before the event.

Special Meal Requests - Please notify the SAMA office a week before the luncheon should you have a special dietary request; otherwise, if a request is made at the luncheon, there will be a $30 up charge above the regular luncheon fee and a wait of at least 20 mins.

Cancellations - Cancellation must be received in writing via email no more than three business days prior to the meeting date (April 1, 2026) or you will be billed for your no show. Substitutions are acceptable, but please notify the SAMA Office of your changes.
