Committees

This is where leaders in manufacturing come together to share their expertise and talent for the benefit of the industrial and business community. Committees provide SAMA members the opportunity to network and collaborate with each other on important issues that affect manufacturing in our region. Committees play a vital role in keeping SAMA membership informed on industry developments.

SAMA offers two types of committees:

Action Committees

They focus on particular issues and provide guidance on the direction of SAMA.

Event Committees

They plan and shape SAMA’s signature community events.

Action Committees

Education

This committee promotes career interest in manufacturing technologies at the high school and college levels and continued technical skills development of the work force. This committee collaborates with SAMA members to create internship opportunities.

This committee studies, evaluates and advises on standards or regulations set forth by federal, state, county, or municipal agencies relating to environmental issues, ensuring our members are up to date with environmental regulations and best practices for their businesses.

This committee monitors CPS Energy activities and works with CPS Energy staff in maintaining equitable policies and rates for each class of customer.

This committee is responsible for advancing the mission and priorities of SAMA to locally elected officials and for representing members when critical public policy situations arise that impact manufacturers.

Marketing Communications

This committee plans and organizes SAMA’s efforts to maintain its awareness in the community. Oversees communication among the SAMA Membership, including providing information in a newsletter format on Community Highlights, Industry News, Governmental & Regulatory Issues, Events, and Members.

Membership

This committee actively recruits new members while maintaining the present membership. Committee members identify companies in our region that would benefit from SAMA membership and educate prospective members on how SAMA can help them grow. They also assist with SAMA events, selecting locations and serving as greeters for luncheons, member mixers, plant tours and more.

Programs

This committee plans, schedules and supervises the monthly general membership luncheons, seminars, workshops, plant tours and other special functions. The committee is responsible for the selection of topics and speakers for each SAMA event.

Trade Show

This committee plans, schedules and supervises the annual trade show held during the first quarter of each year in the spring, which includes publicity, food, seminar, booth sales, venue, and door prize donations.
