The San Antonio Business Journal is recognizing outstanding businesses — and the teams behind them — that have shown incredible resilience during the Covid-19 pandemic with the inaugural Resilience in Business Awards.

After dozens of applications, we found a diverse group of businesses that rose to the top and stepped up to find new ways to overcome incredible obstacles to help our community during this crisis: manufacturers that retooled production lines to address critical needs, company leaders that set the tone for their businesses to contribute to causes impacted by pandemic, and individuals who went far beyond the call in giving their time and talents.

Here are our first-ever honorees for these awards:

  • Alamo Colleges District
  • Assessment, Intervention, Management LLC
  • Champion Pediatric Therapy
  • CNF Technologies Corp.
  • Dixie Flag and Banner Co.
  • El Tipico Restaurant
  • Firstmark Credit Union
  • Food Related
  • Grupo La Gloria and True Flavors
  • Kinetech Cloud LLC
  • Knight Aerospace
  • Pearl
  • Shafer Services Plus
  • Sweb Development
  • Xenex Disinfection Services

The businesses were all required to operate in the San Antonio metropolitan area, defined as Atascosa, Bandera, Bexar, Comal, Guadalupe, Kendall, Medina and Wilson counties.

You’ll learn more about the Resilience in Business Awards honorees and why they were chosen in a special publication of the Business Journal in September. Congratulations to all the honorees.

SAN ANTONIO MANUFACTURING
The manufacturing industry is one of the largest sectors of the San Antonio economy.

This fast-growing sector includes aerospace and motor vehicle manufacturing.
San Antonio companies manufacture machinery, computer components, electrical equipment and more.
From furniture to food and beverage manufacturing, this sector is a major employer in the area.
If it can be made from petroleum, plastic, paper, or just about anything else, there’s a local manufacturer that does it.
